Homeless Outreach Mental Health Specialist - HOAP

Northwest Human Services is seeking a qualified mental health professional to assist homeless clients at HOAP (Homeless Outreach Advocacy program) with information, referral, advocacy, transportation, case management, housing, and counseling to support clients in the stabilization process.

Successful candidate will have a Master's degree in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work or related Behavioral Health field, have experience and proficiency in diagnosis and use of DSM IV, and have knowledge of community resources and support systems. Must have a vehicle that can be used for work, valid driver license and auto insurance. Position is part time (.6 FTE) 24 hrs/wk.

Lead Clinician - HOAP

We are seeking a highly competent behavioral health professional to provide mental health services at our Homeless Advocacy and Outreach Project program. The Lead Clinician provides intake screening, assessment, treatment and/or referral to persons with co-occurring disorders such as severe and persistent mental illness and alcohol and/or drug abuse or dependence.

Master’s Degree in counseling, social work or other mental health field; LPC, LMFT or LCSW required. LCSW preferred. Must have a minimum of two years’ experience working with mentally and emotionally disabled individuals. Familiarity with mental health medication and knowledge of community resources and support systems. Position is full time.

Medical Assistant (Bilingual) - Total Health Community Clinic

We are seeking energetic, highly competent individuals to provide team oriented medical care to underserved patients at our West Salem Clinic in Salem, OR and our Total Health Community Clinic in Monmouth, OR.

The ideal candidates will possess at least one year of experience in a medical clinic and formal training/education in a Medical Assistant program. Must have knowledge & ability to perform patient care duties, ability to work a rotating schedule, and current CPR certification is required. Certified Medical Assistant and fluency in English/Spanish required. Position is full time.

Medical Receptionist - West Salem Clinic

Performs receptionist and secretarial duties in our West Salem Clinic. Position requires computer skills, strong customer service skills, and ability to complete multiple tasks with accuracy. High school diploma or GED and experience working in a medical office required. Knowledge of medical terminology and fluency in English/Spanish preferred. Must be able to work flexible hours. Position is full-time.

Mental Health Case Manager/Counselor - HOAP

To assist homeless clients with information, referral, advocacy, transportation, case management, housing, and counseling to support clients in the stabilization process. Provide short-term individual problem-solving, skill building, and group facilitation and manage a client caseload as assigned by Coordinator.

Position requires a Master's degree in a behavioral sciences field and eligibility for QMHP credentialing. Must have familiarity with mental health environment and knowledge of community resources and support system.

Shelter Worker (On-call) - HOAP

We have an on-call position available at our HOAP (Homeless Outreach Advocacy Project) Program in our Safe Haven Short-term shelter. Provide support & services needed to facilitate Safe Haven shelter access, obtaining & keeping permanent housing.

Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral science field; or a combination of at least three year’s relevant work, education, training or experience required. Must be able to work flexible hours, some on-call and shift work.

Current Volunteer Openings:

Medical Records Clerk - Total Health Community Clinic

Provides general support and assistance to the Medical Record Department. The duties of this position include: Maintaining timely completion of medical records by accurately analyzing appointment and file back charts; maintaining the manual chart tracking system to retrieve a chart upon request; routing reports and chart requests; filing documents; answering phones; looking up medical records’ numbers; and assisting in looking for lost charts.

High school diploma or equivalent, ability to cope with a fast-paced environment, and ability to multi-task required. Must be able to remain calm and organized under pressure. Windows based computer applications experience required. Medical Record, physician office or clinic experience; and proficiency in medical terminology preferred.

Position is part-time and the hours varied. Candidate would need to be available between the hours of 8am and 5pm and ideal days to be a combination of Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday. Duration of this position is negotialble and is a part of our preparation to become paperless.

MH Outreach / Case Mgmt. Volunteer for the Deaf - West Salem Clinic Mental Health

NWHS is seeking a volunteer to provide supportive services, case management, and advocacy to the Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Late Deafened clients, under the supervision of the Mental Health Clinical Supervisor/MH Counselor or Mental Health Counselor/Case Manager for the Deaf as delegated. Provides information, screening, referral, and advocacy services to all who request them. Candidate would need to be available between the hours of 8am and 5pm and is part-time. Hours and duration of this position is negotialble.

Enrollment or completion of a Bachelors level education in a behavioral health field as a minimum. Volunteer should be familiar with the deaf community. Fluent in American Sign Language (ASL). A vehicle which can be used for work.
