Bio: After graduating from Colorado State University, I gained clinical experience in both Colorado and Alaska providing medical care form individuals with poor access.  This inspired a passion for enabling patients to attain the care they deserve and educating patients regarding their medical care.  I later moved to Philadelphia to continue my education at Drexel University which allowed my interest in primary care to develop further.  I’m new to the Pacific Northwest after living all throughout the country, including Vermont, Colorado, and Alaska.  I’m excited to experience all Oregon has to offer and explore the area.

Bio: Dr. Truschel has worked for over 30 years as a Community Psychiatrist in the Pacific Northwest. He had the honor to work for 2 years in New Zealand as Senior Consultant to the Canterbury Area Health Board for the South Sector of Christchurch, where he coordinated inpatient and outpatient care to a population of one hundred thousand. There he participated as Faculty of the University of Otago in the Registrar Training Program. He was admitted to the New Zealand Specialist Register. Back in the Pacific Northwest, he has past appointments as Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry for the University of Washington School of Nursing, and the University of the Pacific Osteopathic Medical School. He served as Medical Director of the Evergreen Counseling Center, in one of the poorest areas of Washington State for 10 years.
Dr. Truschel considers it an honor to work for the Medicare, Medicaid, indigent and homeless populations. He appreciates the Quinault Nation where he worked for a decade as Psychiatric Consultant to the Roger Saux Clinic. Raised in poverty, Dr. Truschel is well aware a person’s worth is not determined by their income.
